Vernon Hybrid car ordinance 01/15/2008

Article ReminderNews: "The ordinance would grant a $1,000 property tax exemption for any passenger car that has an EPAestimated city or highway mileage rating of at least 40 miles per gallon, purchased on or after Jan. 1, 2008 and prior to July 1, 2010, as well as a property tax exemption of $1,000 for any hybrid passenger vehicle, defined by the state’s General Statutes, purchased between Oct. 1, 2004 and Oct. 1, 2008. The vehicle must be registered in Vernon, and the owner must apply for that exemption with the Tax Assessor. The tax credit would be based on the mil rate."
